This may sound a bit strange to you (especially guys), but while learning how to play a guitar, the single most motivating thing for me was:

Singing

I know, I know... you don't think you WANT to sing. Or you don't think you can. But you CAN. I don't even have to tell you that there are plenty of professional musicians that sing terrible *cough*James Blunt*cough*, and people actually like to listen to them anyways!

Literally, you can become a one man (woman) band. You're guitar carries the rhythm/beat and you sing the melody. It can be greatly satisfying while you are alone and, once you get good at it, you bring a WHOLE lot more to the table when playing together with others than the average guitar player (and there are a lot of them).

Just practice somewhere you can experiment and focus on singing loud. That may sound counter-intuitive when you are first starting out, but you will learn to control your voice far faster by singing "out" and "loud". Sing "at" a wall. Pushing the voice out of your head. If you start to feel your lips or teeth vibrate just a speck, you've scored! Once you can sing a song at that volume you will be well on your way to being valuable to others for your added vocal abilities.

Do take it easy though, your voice is just as much an instrument as your guitar and shouldn't be abused or taken for granted. Have fun with it but show it respect!

Even if you haven't played guitar tablature before you can impress or maybe shock your friends by playing Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star. Let's start playing guitar tab!

Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star is a popular English nursery rhyme with the French melody Ah! Vous dirais-je, Maman. You can play this song on the first three strings on the guitar.

The text is from a poem, "The Star", by Jane Taylor. It was first published in 1806. Here you have the English lyrics:

Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!
Up above the world so high,
Like a diamond in the sky.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star,
How I wonder what you are!

We will use guitar tablature so you will not need to read sheet music. You will only use the thinnest strings on the guitar. The string with the highest pitch is called the first string or E-string. Look at the following guitar tab:

1. 0-0-0-0-----------------
2. --------1-1-1-1---------
3. ----------------2-2-2-2-

This is a tablature staff and the four number 0 indicate that you play the first string four times without pressing down any finger on your right hand. This is called to play on an open string.

The four number 1 coming after is played on the second string pressing down your first finger on the first fret. Then you will play the third string four times pressing down the string on the second fret. This is what the previous guitar tablature notation is telling you.

Let's play the first notes of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star with guitar tablature:

1. ------------0--0--------------------------
2. ------3--3-------3----1--1--0--0----------
3. 0--0-----------------------------2--2--0--

If you want to use your left hand in a professional way you can play the guitar tab notes on the first fret with your first finger, notes on the second fret with your middle finger and the notes on the third fret with your ring finger.

Now it's only one guitar tablature part left:

1. 3--3--1--1--0--0-----
2. ------------------3--
3. ---------------------

After having played this part twice, go back and play the first guitar tablature part and the melody is complete.

Now when you understand guitar tablature notation you can find many songs written this way on the internet. Search for guitar tab or guitar tablature. A complete guitar tablature staff has six lines representing the six strings.

If you have an ukulele hanging somewhere you can use the previous tablature too. The first three strings on an ukulele is tuned the same way as on the guitar.

Insecurity / Neediness

Women absolutely hate men who are not secure with themselves. I shutter whenever I hear a man say do you like me?, what would you rate me out of 10?, Am I good in bed?, Do you think my penis is big? The list could literally go on forever. It is truly pathetic. Please stop acting insecure!

Jealousy

Jealousy is a manifestation of insecurity. Men are basically jealous of other men because they feel threatened. A truly high value man would not feel threatened by anyone, regardless of how good looking, rich or powerful they were. You need to assume the attitude other men only make me look good and if you follow David DeAngelos advice, other men actually will only make you look good. Id say 95% of guys out there have no clue how to handle women.

Seriousness

Guys who take themselves too seriously are very unattractive to women. Its basically the one main reason very intelligent men fail with women: they have no sense of humor. You need to start taking life one moment at a time. Work on developing DeAngelos unique Cocky/Funny personality and youll notice women becoming magnetically attracted to you.

I really dont want to over hype DeAngelos stuff, but I can tell you from personal experience that the Cocky/Funny technique is the one thing that gave me the best results, very fast. Developing a Cocky/Funny personality will shed away the seriousness you harbor within. Women will love it.

Controlling Behavior

Men who demand their girlfriend not do specific things only cause them to want to do it all the more. Guys who demand that their girlfriend not hang out with other men or go to clubs or hang out with her friends are very unattractive. In essence, the forbidden behavior becomes alluring to women and they want to do it all the more.

Its important that if you have a girlfriend already or when you eventually get one that you not put any handcuffs on her. Dont ask her where shes at all the time, who shes with, get mad at her for checking out some other guy or anything of that nature. Just let her be. Remember that no amount of insecure bitching on your part will change anything. Choose indifference.

Bribery

I see a lot of guys bribing women with gifts and other such gestures. The problem with this is that it comes across as though youre trying to bribe the women into liking you. Its basically cheap, ineffective manipulation. You think its just you being nice but thats not how she sees it.

Women want a fun, interesting, playful guy who can turn even the most mundane activity into an adventure with his personality alone. DeAngelo really taught me how to foster and develop that very personality so I didnt have to buy women gifts just to get them to like me. In fact, he taught me that the very act of buying gifts demonstrated to the women that I was not enough and that I had low self esteem. It truly is interesting how women think.
