What Is The Best Syle Top To Wear If One Has A Protruding Tummy

What is the best style top to wear if one has a protruding tummy is the question. The answer comes in a series of suggestions. These are logical, common sense reminders to acknowledge what you instinctively already know, but you try to ignore because of the fashion trends of the day.

You can have great fitting, attractive tops and look terrific even if you have a "pot belly."

Here are the buying and sewing tips help you discover a very fashionable "you."

First of all, do not wear tucked in tops. They simply accentuate the tummy. And, please don't wear clothes that expose your belly. No one really appreciates seeing it. Put a paper bag over your head, cut holes for your eyes and look in the mirror. Now, what do you think?

Sewing your own tops will give you the best fit to flatter your figure. But, you can find ready-to-wear tops that will work, too.

Don't buy or sew your garments by a certain size, but how they fit your body. Size is just a number and really doesn't mean anything. It is how you look that matters.

Sew or buy some simple, basic shells, tees or camisoles to wear under open over-shirts or blouses.

An open shirt provides vertical lines that divide the figure and make you look slimmer. The more vertical lines the better.

Think about sewing tucks or pleats in the front of your shirt. Sew more buttons or stitch a design on the front placket.

Shells should not be clingy to show bulges, but just glide over the body smoothly. Choose flattering colors for your shells to update your wardrobe.

Sleeve Lengths

Do not wear sleeveless garments if your arms are large or flabby or you are an older lady. The skin in the upper arm area is not pretty. Cover it up when you want to look your best.

That goes for elbows, too. Wrinkled elbows are not attractive either.

Try sheer, lace or see through longer sleeves. They give the effect of wearing a sleeveless garment, but cover up the flaws.

If you wear short sleeves, make sure they do not end at your bust line. Have them end above or below the bust line so you don't look extra wide there.

Do not have long sleeves fall below the bend of your wrist. This creates a dowdy look.

Don't have sleeves end at the hemline of your shirt. Again, this visually makes you look wider than you are.

The best sleeve length is three quarter sleeves -somewhere between your elbow and wrist where your arm tapers down. Everyone looks smaller there. Roll up long sleeves to this point and check it out in the mirror.

Wider, Longer Fronts

Ready-to-wear and sewing pattern companies make garments the same width back and front. Our bodies simply are not that balanced. We need to sew unbalanced garments for our unbalanced bodies.

Protruding tummies mean more flesh in front. That means you need more fabric in front to accommodate the larger bulge. This goes for men with "beer bellies" too.

This is really where sewing your own is the best answer. When you sew, you can add whatever you need wherever you need it.

You might also need to add more length in front to go over your bust and large tummy so your shirt doesn't hike up in the front.

Think of a maternity top and how much fuller it is in the front. The same principle applies here.

Shirt Length

Don't have your shirt end at your tummy or your hip where you are widest. Aim to have it end somewhere in between the two widths.

You don't want your shirt too long, especially if you are short. Curl up your fingers, drop your arm down at your side. Don't ever wear a shirt or jacket longer than where your knuckles end.

Also, add side slits to your shirts to help divide the figure from the side view.

Try asymmetric hemlines to help hide the tummy, too.

Have fun fitting your figure. You can do it!

You are the designer! When garments fit, you look and feel better.

It just makes sense!

How to Make Lanyards

Creative types may be curious to learn how to make lanyards. If you are able to follow simple directions you will be able to produce your very own lanyard for personal use or to give as a gift. Whether for yourself or a as a gift, lanyards are a great way to secure your keys, cell phone, badge, or whistle.

In learning how to make lanyards it is important to choose the right material. A popular lanyard making material is a thin, elastic, and flexible plastic lace. It is readily available at most craft stores and referred to as craftlace, lanyard, gimp, or boondoggle.

There are many different stitches that can be used to make or braid a lanyard. Many braiding techniques are complex and time consuming. One of the simpler braids is referred to as a crown (or round) knot. One must utilize patience and follow directions carefully in learning how to make lanyards. The basic crown knot is as follows:

To begin, take two strands of craftlace, fold them together (length will depend on the type of lanyard) and tie a knot at toward the top to hold them securely together. You now have four strings secured at the top.

Spread the four strings apart, separately, pointing in each cardinal direction of a compass. Hold the west string with one finger (close to the knot). At the same time, pull the west string over the north string.

Continuing on, cross the north string over the east string. At this point the north string is covering both the west string and the east string. Now cross the east string over the south string. Finally, cross the south string over the west string. At this point pull each end of the four string extremely tight to make the first knot. Continue crossing the strings in the same manner until the desired length is reached. The knots will produce a rounded lanyard.

Where to Sell Used Cars - Disposing of an Unwanted or Unneeded Automobile

Where to sell used cars is the question youre asking? Youve just bought another car, inherited a car or decided to get rid of an extra car so: Where to sell used cars?

Sometimes when youre buying a new or used car the dealership may not want your old car. There are many reasons for this. Your car may be a model they do not sell. They may not have room for another used car or who knows why they didnt offer you enough money?

Now youre faced with disposing of your car.

Again youre asking: Where to sell used cars?

You could list it in the local paper. They usually offer a better price to you than they will a dealer. You may or may not want to deal with the telephone calls or people coming over to look at it.

You could sell it on ebay. If you will sell the car as a No Reserve auction, it will definitely sell. On eBay lots of good pictures are a must. If you do not know what you are doing you may take less for the car than it is worth.

You may still want to list a phone number or at least respond quickly to questions. There are a few things that are must knows about selling on ebay motors. Use a low starting price to get immediate notice. If yours is just a plane jane auto that can be bought on any street corner then ebay may not be the place to sell it.

To sell on ebay lots of good pictures are a must. Using ebay's photo hosting is expensive. I prefer Photobucket.coms free service. Make sure to take clean photos of all sides of the car as well as all detail of the interior. Have the car washed and waxed and cleaned inside before taking the photos.

List all the good points about your auto. If its never been smoked in that is a good buying cue for those with allergies. Since no used car is perfect, be honest and tell all the bad points. Like the dent on the side from the lady at the grocery store parking lot.

Use paypal to allow a quick deposit and be specific about how long the winner has to come pick the auto up. Usually 10 days is sufficient. Require the buyer to call and discuss the details. I would follow up with an e-mail to make sure and confirm the details in writing.

You could list on AutoTrader or other online and print auto magazines. Autotrader.com has a service where your car ad runs until sold. First, research what others are asking for the same car and see what Edmunds.com says it is worth.

Be realistic and do not expect to sell for hundreds over retail or private party pricing. An overpriced car could set forever and not sell. Remember the car is going down in value everyday. The only exception to this are rare and collectible automobiles.

Advertise Free on Craigslist.Craigslist.com is available for most major metro areas. It is a good free service to put a classified on. Since its free a lot of people put their cars there. To get attention again you car needs to be priced right

Give the car away and take a tax deduction. There are many deserving organizations like Goodwill Industries here in Florida. M.A.D.D., Cars for Kids and others who will happily come pick up your used car and use the funds to improve the lives of others. They will give you a receipt to use when doing your taxes.

What should you fix? If your car has a major problem like a blown engine or transmission then you may want to sell for parts to an individual or auto salvage yard. Here it will bring only a fraction of what a similar running auto would bring. If it has a safety problem like bad brakes or inoperable wipers I would fix them before selling the car. Little things like a cigarette lighter not working should be mentioned, but are not that important.

After reading this list you now know where to sell used cars. So lets go sell that extra car and get it out of the driveway. Youll save money by taking it off your insurance and be a hero with the neighbors.
