Parent Pressure In Sports

Parent Pressure In Sports

Having your son play football or your daughter on the basketball team is something to be very proud about, but you should always make sure to never make your kids feel pressured about their sports.

Although many dads love seeing their sons scoring the winning touchdown every game, this is not very common and it is very unreasonable for any father to expect this from his son. The same goes with girls expectations in sports, because even at full potential, nobody is completely perfect.

Parent pressures in sports is something that parents see other parents doing, but never notice they are doing it themselves. There have actually been studies about parent pressure in sports, and the majority of kids felt that they were pressured more about their sports than their schoolwork by their parents.

Although having your child as the star pitcher on the baseball team is very rewarding, it means nothing if your child cannot even graduate high school.

Around twenty percent of students in sports say that they experience negative parent pressure in sports, and this actually causes many children to feel discomfort and no longer want to participate in that sport.

Because coaches are not responsible for dealing with your childs emotional life, it is important that you do. By causing your child to suppress their emotions because of pressure to succeed, your childs success will actually take a turn and can result in an end to their sports career.

Being a parent means that you are supposed to be there for your child, to celebrate or even to mope. You need to make sure that your child will be ready for the real world, emotionally, mentally, and physically. Loosing a soccer game is not the end of the world, and no parent should ever make his or her child feel that way.

Because sports alone come with very physical and mental demands, it is important for parents to make sure that children are not overly stressed and that they have confidence in themselves. By keeping your child confident and free of the fear to fail, they will be able to perform at their best and make you proud.

There are many fears that children experience when involved in sports, and most of them actually relate directly back to the parents. Being scared off loss of acceptance is nothing any children should feel from their parents, since parents should always accept their children for who they also.

Potential embarrassment can also scare kids, but they should not be embarrassed of loosing in sports. One team wins and one team looses, so someone is going to have to lose every once in a while. Being judged can be fearful, but young children should not have to worry about this. A parent should never judge a child, since they are just learning how to be themselves. These fears, along with many others, are keeping children from participating in sports to have fun.

Parent pressure in sports is hard to detect, but can greatly affect a young mind. By making sports fun and not expecting anything, children can grow up with confidence and the goal to always try again.

Who Should Consider Starting a Paid Subscription Website?

Before I identify who should be considering setting up a subscription website, it would be a good idea to define exactly what a subscription website is.

There are two inter-changeable terms; a subscription website and membership website. Most people don't differentiate between the two.

A subscription or membership website is a site which has a password protected member area. Visitors to the site have to register their details and usually make a payment before being issued with a password. The password gives them access to a member-only content. The content is usually text articles, but it can be applications, digital downloads or streamed video and audio clips.

In the traditional print world the subscription website can be compared to a specialist newsletter or magazine. But the internet has some major advantages over print. There are almost zero distribution costs, they can attract a global audience, they can be run from anywhere in the world, content can be archived in a searchable format and most importantly members are able to interact with one another creating a strong sense of community.

These advantages open up subscription websites to a huge number of individuals and organisations who otherwise would not be able to cost effectively sell subscriptions and distribute their information. A site with as few as 500 members can provide a good income for the editor.

Examples of individuals and groups who should consider the online subscription website opportunity are:

Authors

Publishers

Consultants

Celebrities

Marketing Experts

Musicians

Hobbyists

Public Speakers

Personal Coaches

Sports Coaches

Business Owners

Program and Course Developers

Teachers/ Trainers

Directors/Producers

Talent Agents

Fan Clubs

Associations/Societies

Songwriters

Writers/Journalists/Editors

Church Groups

Sports Clubs

Charities

Alumni Associations

If you consider that there are over 50 million active blogs on the internet, many of these have a strong and loyal followings......... but they are making very little money from advertising. These are ideal candidates to convert to a subscription website so that they can start earning a proper living from their expertise.

Remember everybody has knowledge and expertise that is valuable to somebody.
