Time Is Running Out For Smokers

From 1st July 2007 smoking in enclosed public places will not be permitted in England. No longer will smokers be allowed to light up in offices, factories, pubs, clubs, restaurants or bars. Smokers everywhere will be forced to either give up, or only smoke in open places and their own homes.

When the government first announced its intention to change the law, it predicted that as a result, over 600,000 people will give up. If these government estimates are right, are hundreds of thousands of smokers about to give up at the same time and if so, how are they going to manage it?

There are three basic options: firstly straight will power, which is known to bring on the all too familiar withdrawal pangs of irritability, mood swings and cravings; secondly there is the proverbial nicotine patches and gum, which over recent years have received quite negative press in relation to their cost and effectiveness; the final option is hypnotherapy, which over recent years has become a more acceptable cure for smokers looking to quit.

The reason Hypnotherapy is such a powerful tool for those who wish to Quit Smoking is because Smoking is an unconscious habit. A 20-a-day, 30-year veteran has moved their hand up to their mouth and taken a deep breath over 2,000,000 times in their lives, and every time they have wrongly associated this movement with feelings of relaxation. Hypnotherapy helps people stop smoking because it helps retrain the unconscious mind and helps replace the normal withdrawals symptoms with feelings of relaxation, improved self confidence and overall happiness.

Hypnotherapy was actually proven to be the best method of stopping smoking by a meta analysis conducted at Iowa University by Viswesvaran & Schmiidt (1992) involving 72,000 subjects. The results of this research were featured in the New Scientist magazine (October 1992). This study looked at many different ways to stop smoking and Hypnotherapy was shown to be the most effective method.

Celebrity Breasts-- What Size are They, and Who's Had Plastic Surgery?

Celebrities and Breast Size - They're Not as Naturally Blessed as You Might Think

The obsession over cosmetic perfection and, more recently, breast size, has sparked a rash of Hollywood "upsizing" in the breast department. Who's natural, what cup size are they, and who's had breast surgery? The answers may or may not be surprising. In other words, you might be shocked at just how much a push up bra can deceive to the tune of 1,2 and even three cup sizes!

Celebrities - How they Influence What We Want in a Breast Size

What determines the size of a full grown woman's breasts? Is it primarily environmental or outside influences, or is it all "in the genes"? The final size of a woman's mature breasts is mostly determined by heredity and can range from very small AA cups to very full EE cups. Breast size varies greatly among women, but the average breast size is a B cup, and all sizes and shapes are normal and healthy, although they may not fit the conventional idea of breast beauty.

For some reason, probably the increasing popularity of breast augmentation surgery and the overwhelming number of female celebrities who are considered sexy who have this breast size, the common perception today is that the perfect breast size is a C cup. See some famous celebrity breast sizes below, and you'll see these famous women are as diverse as the rest of us. Although they may all look like they have C cups in the movies or in videos, you'll see what they've really got without the padding, underwire and inserts!

Celebrity Breast Sizes - Does Their Cup Truly Runneth Over?

Jennifer Lopez breast size: Modest B cup

Angelina Jolie breast size : C cup : Hate to break it to you, but these are probably real. Yes, she is genetic perfection in the form of a waif thin body and large breasts, I'm afraid.

Britney Spears breast size : Modest C cup (when she's not pregnant or is on the slimmer side)

Christina Aguilera breast size : Pre Breast Implants : A cup Post Breast Implants : Large C cup

Catherine Bell breast size : Large D cup : Not definitive that she has implants, but I suspect she was a fairly busty woman who also had implants, which is why this large breast size looks so natural on her, and yet she doesn't have a whole lot of sagging for such a large size.

Jessica Simpson breast size : Small D cup : Jessica Simpson is another celebrity that has been puzzled over as to whether she has implants. Some "experts" say yes, and some say she's natural. I just want to know how she lost all that weight and didn't lose a bit of breast size. Hmmm...

Jessica Alba breast size : Small B cup : Although Jessica Alba is one of those celebs that has worn many a push up bras and I suspect has also worn gel inserts to change cup size so drastically between films, you can tell she has a natural breast size of about a small B cup. She also has very little body fat, which accounts for her perfectly natural smaller size.

While many of us may not be happy with the appearance of our breasts, it is good to know that they do come in all sizes and shapes, and we can actually improve their appearance - whether it be increasing their size, enhancing the shape and contour of the breast, or adding to the perkiness, firmness and perfect beauty of the female form, if we are not happy with our current breast size and appearance. There are lots of ways to do this. Massage, exercise, supplementation and just an all around good diet are a few of the ways.

It's just good to know that some of the most beautiful celebrities in the world have either had a lot of help from a plastic surgeon in the breast department, or they are not as large as they are made to look on screen. It goes to show that the most important thing is that you are happy with yourself, and feeling beautiful has much more to do with confidence and other areas other than your breasts.

Acne Vulgaris - Definition, Causes, Symptoms and Treatment

Acne vulgaris and acne is a skin problem. Some people call it blackheads, whiteheads, pimples, or zits. Acne vulgaris is an inflammatory disease of the skin.. Acne has been implicated in psychiatric and psychological processes more than most other dermatological conditions. Most young people get at least mild acne. It usually gets better after the teen years. But many adult women do have acne in the days before their menstrual periods. Acne is most common in teenagers, but it can happen at an age, even as an infant. Three out of four teenagers have acne to some extent, probably caused by hormonal changes that stimulate oil production. However, people in their 30s and 40s may also have acne. Acne vulgaris affects the areas of skin with the densest population of sebaceous follicles; these areas include the face, the upper part of the chest, and the back The condition is most common in puberty. It is considered an abnormal response to normal levels of the male hormone testosterone. The response for most people diminishes over time and acne thus tends to disappear, or at least decrease, after one reaches his or her early twenties. There is, however, no way to predict how long it will take for it to disappear entirely, and some individuals will continue to suffer from acne decades later, into their thirties and forties and even beyond.

Inflammatory acne is the result of the host response to the follicular inhabitant Propionibacterium acnes. Symptoms of Acne Vulgaris include whiteheads, blackheads, and pimples. Redness around the skin eruptions and Scarring of the skin. Pimples that are large and deep are called cystic lesions. These can be painful if they get infected. Acne vulgaris affects 85-100% of people at some time during their lives. Acne vulgaris may be present in the first few weeks and months of life when a newborn is still under the influence of maternal hormones and when the androgen-producing portion of the adrenal gland is disproportionately large. This neonatal acne resolves spontaneously. Acne starts when oil and dead skin cells clog the skin's pores. If germs get into the pores, the result can be swelling, redness, and pus. See a picture of how pimples form. Adolescent acne usually begins prior to the onset of puberty, when the adrenal gland begins to produce and release more androgen hormone.

Acne vulgaris is caused oil and dead skin cells clog the skin's pores. Acne vulgaris may also be influenced by genetic factors. Hormone-driven over-production of sebum as the main contributing factor of acne. Some cosmetic agents and hair pomades may worsen acne. Congenital adrenal hyperplasia, polycystic ovary syndrome, and other endocrine disorders with excess androgens may trigger the development of acne vulgaris. Medications that can promote acne include steroids, lithium, some antiepileptics, and iodides. Seafood often contains relatively high levels of iodine. Iodine is known to make existing acne worse but there is probably not enough to cause an acne outbreak. Still, people who are prone to acne may want to avoid excessive consumption of foods high in iodine. Chocolate, french fries, potato chips and sugar, among others, affect acne. A high GI (glycemic index) diet that causes sharp rises in blood sugar worsens acne. Masturbation causes acne and, conversely, that celibacy can cure it. True acne vulgaris in adults may be a feature of an underlying condition such as pregnancy and disorders such as polycystic ovary syndrome or the rare Cushing's syndrome.

Acne treatment depends on whether you have a mild, moderate or severe form. There are many treatment of Acne vulgaris. Azelaic acid was originally used to treat brown spots/hyperpigmentation. It is useful for comedonal acne as well as mild to moderate inflammatory acne. Erythromycin and clindamycin are excellent topical antibacterial medications that are available as pads, solutions, lotions, and gels. Benzoy peroxide products are also effective against P acnes. Oral antibiotics (taken by mouth) such as minocycline, doxycycline, and tetracycline and hormonal therapies including oral contraceptives are also be used effectively. Speaking successful treatments give little improvement within the first week or two; and then the acne decreases over approximately 3 months, after which the improvement starts to flatten out. Treatments that promise improvements within 2 weeks are likely to be largely disappointing. Short bursts of cortisone, quick bursts of antibiotics and many of the laser therapies offer a quick reduction in the redness, swelling and inflammation when used correctly, but none of these empty the pore of all the materials that trigger the inflammation.

Tips To Maximizing Fuel Economy In Today's Climate Of High Gas Prices

High costs at the pump have you troubled? Find yourself at the pump yet again dishing out another $50 - $100? Well, you're not alone. The rising price of gas is on most of our minds and pocketbooks these days leaving us wondering if and when there will be a reprieve.

Until gas prices do normalize, there are some things that you can do to stretch that next tank of gas. Here are 10 tips that should save you a few extra bucks at the pump:

1. Instead of running multiple errands, consolidate your trips into one thus eliminating significant and unnecessary travel.

2. In congested, urban areas, avoid rush hour traffic. Gridlock and its start and stop travel is one of the quickest ways to drain that gas tank.

3. Resist the temptation to drive alone. Carpool with your co-workers. Carpooling with three of your colleagues means you only drive every fourth week saving you a bundle in fuel costs over the course of a year.

4. In cold weather climates, have an engine block heater installed. This will reduce the amount of fuel needed to warm the car on those cold winter mornings.

5. Resist turning on the AC at the first sign of warm weather. Air conditioning burns up allot of fuel. If you're driving in the city, a better alternative is to roll down the windows and open all vents. Highway driving is a different story though. The drag from open windows can also result in your burning more fuel. If you have to, roll up the windows and place the AC on the lowest setting.

6. Remove roof racks and overhead carriers when not in use. The drag created by these will result in less fuel economy.

7. Remove any unnecessary weight from your vehicle that will cause the engine to work harder and use more fuel.

8. Ensure your vehicle is tuned up on a regular basis. A properly tuned vehicle operates more efficiently resulting in the consumption of less fuel.

9. Alter your driving style. Do you accelerate quickly from a starting position? Gradually accelerating until you've reached your optimum speed will result in a significant gas savings over the long haul.

10. Routinely have your brakes and tire pressure checked. Poorly working brakes can result in your vehicle working harder and using more fuel. The same for your tires, under or over inflated tires will result in the consumption of more fuel.

Following even just a few of these tips should save you some money.
