This is the third article in which I am writing about the meaning other people have in your dreams because it is still difficult to understand what it means when other people feature in your dreams. That is why I'm going to show you their meaning in other words again and with an example.

A young man told me he saw the following dream:

He was with his friend X walking in the centre of the city. They walked a lot until they came to a place where many people were crowded and the young man showed to all the people his friend X, pointing at him with his hand, as if he were introducing a great personality to the crowd. He remembers that they were somewhere higher than the crowd. Then they continue walking and it becomes night although it was day before when they were together all the time. In the end, the young man doesn't know if he had already awakened, or if it was a part of the dream, but he saw Madonna's face and she was dying from asphyxia-she couldn't breathe.

I had interpreted a series of dreams of the same young man, who was very seriously disappointed in love with a relationship he had with a woman who was a few years older than him.

I asked him, "How could you characterize your friend X?"

He said, "I don't know... He is a good friend. He is smart..."

"You have to tell me something that you relate to that friend. What do you think when you think about him? Tell me in a word what his presence represents to you. How do you see him?"

The young man then tells me,

"I don't know if this is what you are looking for, but he is a little bit gay. I don't know for sure... he seems to be. But he is a very smart guy and a very good friend. It's just his style."

"It doesn't matter. If, for you, he is related to a man that is homosexual, that's what he represents for you. So, he represents your own tendency towards homosexuality, because each person you see in your dream reflects a part of your personality. He is your tendency to homosexuality and you were presenting this tendency to other people as if you were agreeing with him, with the homosexual tendency. The other people are other parts of your personality who don't accept this part and you were trying to make them accept it."

"The unconscious shows you, though, that if you'll follow his ideas, in the end the anima, which is represented by Madonna, a beautiful woman, is going to die from asphyxia. Anima is the figure of the perfect woman for you. If she is sick she has to become healthy because you have to have a good anima that will be your perfect other side in order to be balanced. If the anima is sick, it means that you have a tendency towards homosexuality."

"The unconscious shows you that there are many things that you don't know, even though you think you know a lot about this part of your personality, or in other words, about your friend X. However, night comes and you still are with him because there are many things about him that you still ignore, or, are still "in the dark" about."

"You shall not follow his ideas and believe that he is right. He is wrong. Your deception with that particular woman doesn't mean that other women will be the same. Now you have learned how to choose a woman. You are going to look for a woman with an honest personality who will respect you, who will be completely different from that woman who lacked moral principles and only made you suffer."

This is the interpretation of his dream, in combination with his previous dreams, and with the story of his life, which is revealed through his dreams. I could see exactly which his problem through his dreams was, by examining the series of all the dreams he saw.

One dream alone doesn't reveal much. We have to examine a series, because the unconscious shows us the existent problem in several steps. We can understand everything only after examining a series of dreams about the same subject. That young man was even tired with the same theme in his dreams. He even asked me, "Isn't the unconscious going to show me anything else beside this theme?? I want to learn about my work, my plans... and many other things in my life!"

However, the unconscious was insistent to solve this problem because it was the most important one, it was serious and it had to be solved first of all so that the young man could care about other facets of his life. He had a trauma and he had to be cured. He couldn't continue living with it unresolved, because it was like a bleeding wound and affected everything in his life.

That's how you have to interpret your own dreams when you see other people in them. The unique exception is when you see the person you love, as I told you in my last article about this matter ("Depression Treatment - The person you love" - you can find it in my article collection). If you see dreams with the person you love, this is not part of your own personality. The unconscious gives you objective information about this person, and you can trust the messages you receive in your dreams about him or her, because they work as psychotherapy, showing you everything you need to learn and everything you need to understand about the person you love, especially if this person is hurting you.

You only need to learn the symbolic language used by the unconscious in order to clearly understand all your problems and how you can solve them. You receive guidance, not a ready solution, because your conscience has to be developed, but this guidance is sufficient to help you find the solution you need by yourself, since you'll understand what provoked your problems and you'll see all the possible solutions you have.

How to use Essential Oils to Treat Thinning Hair

Aromatherapy dates back to the Egyptians and has been used for centuries to treat a variety of bodily conditions. Losing hair causes both women and men anxiety and has generated a multi-million dollar industry. But studies show that inexpensive, home-grown remedies might just be the best answer. Aromatherapy consists of concentrated flower extracts, leaves and roots from different plants that aid regeneration.

This kind of hair loss is referred to in medical terms as Alopecia Areata. It's a patchy kind of baldness thought to be related to an autoimmune disorder. Scottish dermatologists, including Isabelle Hay and colleagues from the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, ran a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial on 86 people with alopecia using the following essential oils:

Thyme vulgaris, Thyme (2 drops, 88 mg)
Lavandula angustifolia, Lavender (3 drops, 108 mg)
Rosmarinus officinalis, Rosemary (3 drops, 114 mg)
Cedrus atlantica, Atlas Cedar Wood (2 drops, 94 mg)

These oils were mixed in a carrier oil which was a combination of 3 ml of jojoba and 20 ml of grapeseed oil. The control group received unscented carrier oils alone with no essential oils added.

The oils were massaged into the scalp for a minimum of 2 minutes and a warm towel was wrapped around the head to aid absorption of the oils. Patients were advised to use this technique every night.

Professional photographs of each patient's scalp were taken at baseline, three and seven months. Observed changes over this time period served as the primary outcome measure. Outcomes were also measured by mapping bald patches and severity of alopecia with a four-point scale.

At the end of 7 months the results were impressive: 44% (16 of the 35 patients) had noticeable improvement compared to 15% (6 of 28 patients) in the control or placebo group. The average hair regrowth with the essential oils was 104 square cm compared with nearly zero for those in the control group. Is 44% response rate worth the effort to try these essential oils? It's important to note that according to the authors of this experiment, this percentage is approximately the same response rate dermatologists expect with standard medical therapies.

The results indicate that aromatherapy is a safe and effective treatment for this kind of hair loss. Trying this alternative treatment is a lot less expensive, requires fewer or no doctor visits and has a lower risk of side effects. So what have you got to lose?
