Inexpensive Home Acne Treatments

Let's face it, conventional acne remedies such as topical creams and pills can be expensive and often have unwanted side effects. However, you can treat acne easily without resorting to these conventional medicines. This article is about inexpensive home acne treatments that are easy to prepare and often work just as well, if not better than, prescription or over-the-counter creams, lotions and pills. In my opinion, these inexpensive home acne treatments easily win out over the expensive conventional remedies!

Treatment 1 - Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is one of my favorite inexpensive home acne treatments. It is highly effective as an acne treatment because it contains citric acid which acts to dry the skin (and pimples) out. This works in a similar fashion to conventional acne remedies such as benzoyl peroxide but is all natural instead! Also, citric acid has a mild antibacterial effect which works to kill the germs that build up in the pores of the skin and cause acne. To prepare the lemon juice treatment you need to get a fresh lemon and cut it into small pieces. Simply rub one of the small pieces gently over the acne affected area and leave to dry. Rinse using lukewarm water if you don't want to have a sticky face!

Treatment 2 - Water

Water is another one of the best inexpensive home acne treatments out there. It works so well because it helps to rid your body of toxins which can lead to acne. Also, drinking lots of water keeps your skin supple and well moisturized which gives the appearance of healthier skin. In my opinion you should drink at least two liters of water a day, evenly spaced out throughout the day (rather than large quantities at less frequent intervals) Preferably the water should be filtered through a filtration device to remove any compounds in it which may pollute the body.

Treatment 3 - Carrot Juice

Carrot juice is another one of the most amazing inexpensive home acne treatments available. Because of the large quantities of Beta Carotene (as well as Vitamin A) contained within carrots, you get a large kick of essential compounds which help to keep the skin healthy. Juicing carrots allows you to concentrate these compounds without having to eat large quantities of whole carrot which would be rather impractical. To make carrot juice you need a fruit and vegetable juicer (these can be purchased from most electrical appliance stores) Next, peel five medium sized carrots and chop the ends off them. Simply juice them up and enjoy! I recommend having carrot juice once every other day.

Now that you've learned about the three best inexpensive home acne treatments get out there, buy yourself some lemons and carrots and don't forget to drink plenty of water. After a while on these inexpensive home acne treatments you'll be able to throw away your costly prescription medicines and save a whole heap of money that can be put towards other things. Also, you won't have to worry about putting potentially harmful chemicals into your body which has got to be a good thing!
